Teaneck First invites you to meet Deputy Mayor Denise Belcher, George Fernandez Jr. and Duane Harley, Esq. - three community leaders bringing different strengths and a shared commitment to Teaneck.
Denise brings municipal, entrepreneurial and community-leadership experience. George brings a background in labor, social work, advocacy and small business. Duane contributes legal knowledge and a decade of service advising Teaneck's Planning Board and Youth Advisory Board.
Together, they offer a broad understanding of the people, neighborhoods and issues that make Teaneck what it is. But this campaign is not only about the candidates. It is about the residents they seek to represent.
What concerns you about Teaneck's future? What is working well? What needs to change? What ideas could help make the town more affordable, inclusive, responsive and connected? Those conversations are essential to the Teaneck First campaign.
We want to hear from homeowners and renters, young people and seniors, parents and educators, business owners and employees, longtime residents and families who have only recently made Teaneck their home.
You can participate in several ways. Attend an event and meet the candidates. Volunteer for community outreach. Invite the team to speak with your neighbors or organization. Share an issue that deserves greater attention. Help introduce the campaign to residents who may not yet know what Teaneck First represents.
Every contribution matters. Some people can volunteer regularly; others may have only an hour. Some may host a gathering, distribute information, make phone calls or help at an event. Others may simply begin a conversation with a neighbor.
